Cramping: A yeast infection can cause you to have burning and it can cause "uti symptoms". However, it is unlikely it would cause cramps. If your symptoms persist you should probably get the pelvic exam done.

Good treatment.: Without a physical exam and based totally upon the symptoms you described, I would have to say it sounds like a very good treatment. You c/o dysuria but don't have signs of UTI so he treated you for a yeast infection and that is consistent with your symptoms. Your refusal to let the doctor do a full exam may be delaying your diagnosis so if your symptoms worsen I recommend going to the ER.

Here are some ...: Without bimanual digital vaginopelvic exam, the assessment for your condition is incomplete. So, empirical Rx for yeast infection was prescribed. For such, it's most advisable to check back with your treating Doc timely for reassessment to a better professional completion. Of course, clinically, the pelvic, bladder functional, and vaginal disorders have to be considered & reviewed.

Burning: Your doctor really needs to examine you to check for a vaginal infection or even more. They treated you for a yeast infection but it was just an educated guess. If the Diflucan (fluconazole) doesn't work, you need to go back

Yeast infection: Burning and pain with urination is of course a common finding with a urinary tract infection. But if your urine test was clear, another common reason would be a vaginal/vulvar yeast infection. Diflucan (fluconazole) is a very effective treatment for this type of yeast infection in many women. If that doesn't help your symptoms within a couple days, it might be wise to go back, and allow a pelvic exam. Good luck

You should: return to your doctor for full exam and correct treatment, because you might still have a bladder infection or even urethritis.
