Don't need them: If the big toe nails fall off, leave them off

No: Which liver disease???? Any systemic disease which affects nails will affect ALL 20 OF THEM. You will do better with a dermatologist. Perhaps you have a fungus infection in your toenails

Don't recommend glue: Hi Shannon I don't recommend using superglue to attach your nail back to your flesh.

Nails can fall off : For a variety of reasons. Sorry to hear about your liver issues. I would recommend that if you are bothered by the appearance of the toenails missing to simply polish the skin where the nail was. People don't stare at big toes and no one should notice.

Nails falling off: Due to your liver disease you are limited to taking certain drugs that won't affect it. You may try Biotin in low does to help your nail growth. Zinc is also helpful to nails. I don't like glueing nails. The chemical can be toxic. Soaking your feet with tea tree oil may also help you.
