One day at most.: It depends on if you have a matrixectomy or not. A matrixectomy involves a permanent removal of the section of nail. This can be done with a chemical, laser or blade. If there is no matrixectomy then it heals very quickly. The matrixectomy is what prolongs the healing to a couple weeks. but it also prevents you from ever getting another ingrown toenail in that area. Discuss this with your doc
