You may want to wait: Depending upon how long ago you were injected, things may get better on their own. I would probably wait at least a week before considering further interventions. I'm not sure prednisolone is the way to go. Injecting hyaluronidase is a simple thing to do and it works very quickly. I would make sure that you see an MD, not a nurse injector, at this point.

Be patient: it can take several days or a week for the oral steroid to take effect. I would not rush off yet to have the hyuronic acid dissolved

Get 2nd opinion: The swelling may be normal and frightening, especially if this was your first time. Get a second opinion from another doctor. The Restylane (dermal fillers) can be dissolved by injecting hyaluronidase.

Second opinion: The problem you are having may be related to a hematoma (blood collection like a big bruise under the skin of the lips), significant localized swelling (a bad bruise with no collection of blood) or a problem with technique. It is highly unusual to be placed on a steroid so I would recommend a second opinion with a board certified Plastic Surgeon.

Restylane (dermal fillers) in lips: swelling after lip injections is not unheard of. You may want to wait another day or two before dissolving. Then- be sure to have your face evaluated by a board certified facial plastic surgeon.
