Confusing question: Pap smears give information about the cells scraped off:normal, inflamed, precancerous or cancerous. Paps do not specifically tell you about STD's, although the doc could get other samples at the same visit that would. With the label of moderate inflammation, the doc would look for a treatable cause and bring you back for a repeat study earlier than if it were normal.

Here are some ...: Moderate inflammation suggests the presence of some white blood cells - also called pus cells, but at least, it's nice to learn all common bacteria offending the vagina are negative. So, as long as you have felt constantly comfortable, you may relax and leave the genital tract alone but maintaining normal vaginal acidity by keeping up normal vaginal flora by supplying more acidophilus probioticus.

Nothing serious: Inflammatory cells can be seen in pap smears. Unless you have vaginal discharge, there is not much reason to be concerned about this. Your gynecologist is the best guide for you to help, if needed, like if you have vaginal discharge.
