Iron stores: Normal total iron stores in the body are 4 -5 grams. Of this, 2.5 grams is carried in the hemoglobin in the blood. The rest is mostly stored as ferritin in the bone marrow, liver, and spleen. Only about 400mg is in myoglobin and cytochromes. 3-4 milligrams is bound to transferrin in plasma.

About half in blood: If you are well-nourished & live in the developed world, you have about 4-5 grams of iron in your body. About 50-60% is contained in hemoglobin needed to carry oxygen through the blood. The rest is contained in ferritin (a precursor) complexes found in all cells, most common in bone marrow, liver and spleen. Perhaps 10% of iron is devoted to important cellular processes, incl myoglobin's action.
