Possibly...: Amberen is not a medication but a supplement. There is not much rigorous scientific data on it. It is used for menopausal symptoms. There are some rare side effects, including night sweats, itching, mild headaches, hot flushes, watering of the eyes, and rashes. Amberen has a small amount of monosodium glutamate (MSG), which may be the cause of some of the side effects. Allergic to MSG? do not use.
