Common after stroke.: Compression stockings are essential after a stroke because of the decreased movement. Also, try gently massaging the foot, then the calf up the leg. Also try elevating the foot above the level of the heart when you can. It may be helpful also to see a physical therapist to address any residual impairments. See your doctor for a referral.
