Depends on position: A 7-8 mm stone may or may not pass. If it travels along the pathway of urine it may block the urine damaging the kidney and may also place you at risk for infection. Have a urinalysis down to look for blood or infection both would suggest the stone is still present. An US would be helpful to look for blockage and a CT kidney stone protocol could directly visualize a stone.
