Uti: Uti's are usually easily treated in young woman where often only one tablet of a strong antibiotic is needed. Drinking cranberry juice may help. It's unfortunate if your physician won't help you by empirically prescribing you one tablet but perhaps a quick office visit may accomplish this as It is unnecessary for you to go to a hospital for a simple uti but a complicated one requires more testing.
