Yes: Cocaine is usually out of the system within a week. However, cocaine use in pregnancy can harm the baby and cause birth defects. Also, cocaine has effects on the vascular system that can last for months after taking that can harm you and the baby.

Yes: If there has not been use of cocaine for weeks prior to delivery then the drug screen in the baby's urine or meconium will be negative. However any such drug use in the first 2 semesters when the baby is developing its organs can be devastating to the baby.

Fetal drug exposure: As the meconium starts to accumulate somewhere between the 12th and 16th weeks then it is likely that your baby will test positive.The dangers to the unborn baby from intrauterine drug exposure are extensive.I strongly caution you to refrain from such use when pregnant.If you're unable to commit to staying clean during pregnancies you should speak to your OB about getting a tubal ligation
