Heat and stretch: You should apply some heat and stretch your neck and shoulder blade muscles. See your doctor if not improved.

Neck pain: What you describe seems muscular. Muscle stiffness and muscle ache can arise from sleep positions. Try massage, ice packs, some gentle heat. Is there a trigger point that needs massage? Hot shower may help, too.
