No: Fibroscan is an ultrasound type that non-invasively( no needles) measures the stiffness of the liver, and can tell if a person has severe hepatitis or cirrhosis, both advanced liver disease states. However, it cannot distinguish early and mild to moderate liver disease from a healthy liver condition, which is what a liver biopsy can do, as well as diagnose a variety of other important conditions
