Nexplanon IUD ?: Nexplanon is an implant placed in your arm and not an IUD (INTRAUTERINE device). It commonly causes irregularly irregular periods. These continue for as long as it is in place. The hormone containing IUDs, Mirena, (levonorgestrel) Skyla, and Liletta can cause irregular bleeding at first but over time periods become very light to non-existent. Hope this helps.
