Small baby: The diagnosis of IUGR is not just based on size but its more of the rate that the baby is growing. IF the baby is small, or its rate of growth is slower than expected then the fetus is assumed to have IUGR. There are multiple reasons for IUGR and its important to treat if possible or to be prepared for what the baby may be at risk once born, although most are born without any issue.
