How long do your eyes take to see after experiencing photo sensitivity?

Several minutes: Following a photosensitivity event (e.g. a very bright flash in pitch dark) , it usually takes 60-180 seconds for sight to recover. In some people it take longer and some less but those are the average ranges. This is why some law enforcement officers are taught to close one eye if they expect to have to discharge their firearm at night; the closed eye will not be effected by the bright flash.
