Speech pathologist: You may wish to consult a speech pathologist for your voice disorder. One issue, among others, to exclude is gastro-esophageal reflux disease. This disorder may not produce other symptoms and lab tests would not reveal it.

See ENT: For persistent hoarseness it is best for a doctor to examine your vocal cords and surrounding structures. The best equipped provider would be an otolaryngologist who will ideally use an endoscopic camera to examine your larynx and give you a good idea of what is happening to your voice.
