It can be many thing: Lumps in the neck can be caused by lymphatic glands or neck cysts. Masses low in the neck and close to the midline can be thyroid masses (goiter or thyroid nodules). There is no blood test to tell you whether a mass is a goiter. This can be determined by: -A neck exam by a doctor -Neck ultrasound -Neck CT, depending on the results.
