Sounds appropriate: If your 3 month old has nasal congestion and lots of nasal discharge it is a good idea to squirt nasal drops in the nares and suction with a bulb suction to open up the nasal passages. Child too young for any medications. Can try to elevate the head of the crib by placing linens under the mattress on the head side.

Benign snuffles: Young infants frequently have snuffles or nasal congestion, which is considered benign unless infant has other symptoms like fever or thicker nasal discharge and poor appetite. Continue saline nasal drops, with suctioning gently and make an appointment with your pediatrician as needed.

Common: The first months are troubled by narrow nasal passages & exposure to dust, fragrences, smoke & other irritants.Baby tries to flush these out of the nose with mucous but this often ends as congestion & produces rattling with breathing. The best rx is washing out the nose with saline & suctioning the remainder. Eliminate irritants from babies environment & this will happen less.
