Saline drops are it: If the tonsillitis is viral there is no reason for the antibiotic. Stuffiness are part of a respiratory virus and needs to resolve on its own. I know your child is uncomfortable but there is not much you can do but wait it out. The fda has warned against using decongestants in young children. You certainly know from your own experience that you can be stuffy for days when you get a cold.
