Very poorly: I have worked with many alcoholics that refused to quit drinking. They generally all die from cirrhosis of the liver (liver failure) or an acute episode of pancreatitis that finally does not respond to treatment. I am truly sorry for you that you are watching your father deteriorate like this. Pray for his healing and rescue from his alcohol addiction. Best wishes.

Potentially can die: Your father is unfortunately in a very tenuous situation. If he has received blood transfusions, I would assume his liver has been compromised and is failing, the lining of his esophagus(food pipe) and stomach being irritated and inflamed and is at risk for bleeding/ ulcers. Your father has to stop drinking now or he will endure a host of complications that will lead to his death. Talk to his doc
