Don't be scared: Estrogen and progesterone are hormones that are normally balanced in young women. As we get older the levels become lower. Sometimes if a woman is having certain symptoms, such as insomnia or fatigue, the doctor will add hormones back if they are low to try and improve the symptoms. Don't worry your doctor is just trying to help you feel better.

Answer varies: The answer to your question depends on your age and your medical history. Progesterone is important to many things, especially fertility. Other times, the treatment is simply synthetic progesterone, which can be taken as a pill. There is nothing to be frightened of, you just need an explanation.
