Fertility ?'s: Mid-cycle bleeding can be related to "twin ovulation" which provides twice as much estrogen, so the drop in estrogen prior to ovulation is enough to cause bleeding. Progesterone taken on a daily basis can actually act to prevent implantation, similar to "depo shots" or Nexplanon. If "low progesterone" is proven, it is taken in the time after ovulation, not continuously, to prevent miscarriage.
