More Orthodontics: See an orthodontic specialist. Many factors may have caused the relapse including problems with your bite, genetics, tongue thrusting, and failure to wear a retainer. You may also be suffering from periodontal issues which will loosen the teeth and allow them to move forward, resulting in spacing.

The frenulum: Did the orthodontist cut/remove the frenulum upper lip? It's a connection between the upper lip and gum(between the front teeth). If this was not removed this could be the cause of your gap remaining. Also did you where a retainer for the recommended amount of time. Follow up with your dentist/orthodontist is recommended.

Gap: Could be caused by tooth size discrepancy, heavy tag of tissue between upper front teeth, malpositioned teeth, traumatic occlusion, or a myriad of other reasons. Talk to both a Qualified Orthodontic Specialist AND your Restorative Dentist to learn which of the many gap-closing treatments would be best for you.
