Check the occlusion: the most common reason elastics are not working as expected is the issue of interfering occlusion. If the opposing arch is interfering with the planned tooth movement, selective occlusal adjustment may be indicated.

Ask: Ask your treating Dentist or specialist Orthodontist. Elastic provide reciprocal force. Intensity, duration, and configuration must be determined by the professional providing your treatment, the person most familiar with your malocclusion. Don't try to second guess his/her instructions.
