A member asked:

I had an echo with abnormal septal motion 4mths ago. is it something that should be monitored? i have no a/v. septal defects or cardiomyopathy

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Check EKG: It could be from a left bundle branch block or pulmonary hypertension as well as AV septal defects and cardiomyopathy. If you are otherwise healthy, it may be wise to repeat the echo every 2-3 years, sooner if symptoms arise (i.e. short of breath or excessive fatigue).
