I'm doing a trial off my corticosteroid and have been wheezing at night and early morning, but it doesn't bother me. can i stay off the medication?

Depends: It really depends upon the cause of your wheezing. If you have asthma and have been on a steroid inhaler and when you stopped it you are now wheezing, it is probably a good idea to remain on the steroid inhaler. Steroid inhalers are the mainstay of asthma treatment. Bronchodilators such as albuterol are used as rescue inhalers. You need to discuss this with your doctor who knows more about you.

Another medication: If you are having twice daily symptoms it suggests that you need a better maintenance regimen for your asthma. If you want to avoid the steroids talk to your physician to see what the other options are.
