A member asked:

My lithium level was 1.66 could it cause unusual visual problems and hallucinations at that level or while coming off of lithium all at once?

Yes: Getting it back down to below 1.2 is part of the deal. Got to make sure Kidney function is OK. Transitory downbeat nystgmus can occur as well as seizures. Keep your doctor informed of any problems that crop up. You'll need to recheck magnesium level, thyroid function, sodium level. More than likely the Lithium level gradually crept up. Acute toxicity usually results in much higher levels.
