A member asked:

1 week since my wisdom tooth is extracted, is it possible for a dental cleaning even if i can't fully open my mouth? can they make some fillings on?

Not a good idea: After wisdom teeth extractions, I usually recommend two weeks before any dental treatment including cleanings or fillings. Anesthetic injections into the jaw muscles can cause stiffness and make it difficult to open fully, especially for long periods. Also, any open areas after extractions can fill up with dental materials and calculus or tarter, which can cause infection and tattoos.

Schedule: Schedule an appointment for a few weeks from now. By then you will be more healed from the extraction, you'll be able to open wider giving the Dentist better access and visualization, and you will be a lot more comfortable. Don't wait, call today to schedule for a few weeks out from now.

Not recommended: Wait 2-3 weeks for complete recovery and normal range of motion. This way your recovery from oral surgery will be comfortable and rapid as possible.
