Sore muscles: Muscle soreness in the neck is very common. Although meningitis also causes neck soreness of stiffness, there is normally a significant fever with this. You seem to have a normal temperature. Have any of your contacts been ill? It is not likely your symptoms are caused by meningitis. Sleeping in an awkward position can also cause your symptom.

Stiff neck: Most likely if you have no fever and no other signs or symptoms of illness, then you have pulled a muscle in your neck, or as you said slept wrong. Take 400 mg of ibuprofen and see how you feel. Also warm compresses on your neck might help.
