A member asked:

I had a colonoscopy three days ago. no bowel movement since, just some mucus. is this within the norm or should i make an appointment with my gastroenterologist? thanks very much?

The "prep" for a colonoscopy involves multiple doses of medication to " clear the lower intestinal tract, and "three days" is not unusual before food consumed after the colonoscopy is digested and reaches the lower colon. If no other symptoms are present (bloating, abdominal pain ) this is not unexpected, and going to your GI physician is not necessary.
