Post polio syndrome: Atrophy, pain and weakness affecting muscles can occur after a course of polio. The problem is other things can cause these symptoms too, and it is difficult to distinguish them. Sometimes in polio muscles are reorganized without a change in strength.

Sort of...: While it is not considered normal in any patient, muscle atrophy in patients with polio is commonly seen as they age, especially in patients with additional scoliosis. Muscle atrophy is usually considered a complication or result of polio, but does not indicate anything else, and by itself is probably not a significant finding.
