Before surgery...: There is an off-label use of a medication for gynecomastia--clomiphene. The benefits of this over testosterone is that there is no resultant testicular atrophy associated with clomiphene use. Neither is there decreased sperm count. The medication is used to enhance fertility in men and women, so you may find yourself more fertile. Talk to your physician about whether clomiphene may be an option.
