Possible: There is some evidence in medical literature that some type of Irritable bower syndrome, which has multiple names and variations, may predispose some patients to develop diverticulosis. Pl see the link provided and get youself checked by a GI doctor for a thorogh evaluation

Contributing factor: Diverticula are small pouches protruding through the intestinal membrane. Diverticulosis appears to be associated with a low fiber diet, constipation and obesity. If the irritable bowel syndrome is presenting with constipation, it might be contributing to the formation of diverticulosis.
