Per a ct scan of the abdomen and pelvis, this is what it said. diverticulosis of the sigmoid colon with mild wall thickening in the midportion, likely muscular hypertrophy. mild diverticulitis less likely. should i be worried about colon cancer?

CT scan is not the best test to rule out colon cancer. A colonoscopy is the optimum way to screen for colon cancer.

I had a ct scan and it was all good but it did say mild thickening of the wall of the mid sigmoid colon, probably due to muscular hypertrophy. What does this mean and is it serious? Went in to check for diverticulitis and I had a very mild case?
