X-ray: I would advise that you have an x-ray to determine if you have sustained a fracture to any of the many foot bones. n the meantime, rest, elevation, anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen should help with the pain & swelling.

Most likely bruised : You most likely bruised the foot but may not be broken, only xray can varify this. You should ice the area, elevate the foot and rest until it feels better. if pain persists more then a week then have a foot doctor take a look for further evaluation and possible treatment options.

What's your question: if you are wondering whether it is broken, you can get a foot X-ray. typically a common rule of thumb is that if you bear weight/walk on it, it is not broken. if it doesn't improve (or gets worse) by day 5 post-injury, get it evaluated
