Pain isn't normal: Rolled in or out? If rolled in there are several structures that could be involved: Ligaments where the fibula (outside bone) attaches to foot, and tendons from leg cross over. The bones in the foot at the area described are at times (depending on force) susceptible to have injury with trauma. Outward roll is less common larger bone (tibia), but same principles apply.
