A member asked:

Today they did a ct pulmonary arteriogram. what does cbd is mildly prominent?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually normal: A mildly prominent common bile duct is not an uncommon finding on CT scan. The common bile duct carries bile from your liver down to your gallbladder and intestine. If you have had your gallbladder removed the bile duct will appear more prominent. If you have and obstruction of the bile duct it will appear prominent. Obstruction of the duct would cause pain and abnormalities of the liver tests.
