I ended my day with my left ankle swollen and painfull. no injury today, multiple sprains over the years, within 2 hours became swollen and excruciatingly painful. no redness, no bruise, no heat? 54 yrs old?

Evaluation: Based on the acute nature of your symptoms and pain would get evaluation now. Could be gout, arthritis flair, or some less common problem related to vascular system or other cause of inflammation. Best to get evaluation and treatment for correct diagnosis. May involve blood work and imaging tests as well as physical exam but best to know true cause to get best treatment.
