Could be either: A gastroenterologist or an ear/nose/throat(ENT) specialist. It would require a bit more information and help to have an exam before I could more accurately suggest who you should consider seeing. As it depends on if this problem is in the top of the food pipe or in the throat itself. Remember, your primary care doc is always a good start. Best of luck and seek help nonetheless.

GP: Seeing your general practitioner is the best place to start. He or she may be able to handle the problem, or determine which consultant is most appropriate. Of course, if you are having trouble breathing or having severe chest pain, the ER is the best place to be.
