Globus: One of the more common problems that cause these symptoms is reflux that is getting to the voice box, called laryngopharyngeal reflux, also known as silent reflux. Oftentimes, patients will have hoarseness of the voice, too. Usually, you won't have heartburn. Best treatment is a proton pump inhibitor, like omeprazole, but at a slightly higher dose than you would treat gerd.
