Dysphagia: dysphagia, or difficulty passing food through the esophagus, is a common complication of uncontrolled acid reflux. You should take the medication that the doctor prescribed, avoid any foods which make your reflux worse, avoid alcohol and cigarettes, and consider tilting your bed. If your dysphagia doesn't improve, a gastroenterologist usually can stretch the esophagus if necessary. Good luck.
