Just be healthy.: there is no way to know how long it will take for you to get the gap, or even if it's possible for you to obtain it. body shape is decided largely by your genes, which you cannot control. don't focus on the gap. focus instead on being healthy. eat lots of whole grains and vegetables. avoid simple sugars and alcohol. drink lots of water. cardio exercise regularly if your doctor says it's ok.

Weight loss: although not easy weight loss is certainly doable and requires significant restriction in calorie intake predominantly by reducing carbohydrates as well as the regular sustained exercise for 30 min. such as walking, swimming, stationary bicycle riding.
