No: A single BP reading slightly elevated is no cause for concern. It is untreated high BP over years and decades that causes heart attacks and strokes. That being said, see your doctor. Your med doses may need to be adjusted. Hope this helps!

Can be: Your BP is in the moderate range so it is not emergent. One reading is not enough either. You should sit down and relax and get a couple readings several minutes apart, and twice a day. If your average is above 139/89 consistently then medication adjustment is indicated. The main risks for mild to moderate elevations is the long term effect on the heart and vessels.
