Relatively safe: While all medications have potential side effects, amlodipine is fairly safe. You should take with caution and advice from your doctor if you have certain conditions such as heart failure, liver disease, or severe heart disease. One of its most common side effects is swelling in the feet and ankles, but this usually resolves with changing medication.
