Steroid v saline: I am not an ENT and don't do septoplasties, but I frequently prescribe both steroid and saline nasal sprays for chronic rhinitis and other nasal problems. Nasal steroids are excellent topical decongestants without problem of rebound congestion, and saline moisturizes and rinses irritants, and some degree of decongestion. In your case, the two should reduce swelling, soften dried blood/prevent bleed

I think:: Steroid nasal spray: to reduce the inflammation after surgery. Saline solution: to keep your mucosa moisturized and prevent the dryness caused by the inhaled steroids so you can breath!
