No family history of glaucoma.recent dilated eye exam normal.can long term use of steroid nasal sprays(furoate) cause glaucoma?it causes open angle or closed angle glaucoma? doc didnt tell me that i have narrow angle. will it raise iop? am i at risk?

A virtual consult with Healthtap to review the need and proper use of the nasal steroid may be helpful. Avoid contact with your eyes. Avoid common allergic triggers including dust,pet dander and pollen. A screening test for glaucoma is recommended.

Some of those patients may develop glaucoma, usually open angle as the steroid does not affect the architecture of the anterior chamber drainage angle. See an eye MD to check IOP every few months.
