A member asked:

I'm having tonsillectomy to remove swollen tonsil in one month. in the meantime, is it ok to visit the dentist or could his tools irritate the tonsil?

Go ahead: Get your dental work done. It won't cause any problems with your tonsils.

Should be fine: I would not expect any issues related to any of the dental tools. If your tonsils are extremely large, you may have a sensation of your throat closing off when you are leaned back for the dental exam. If you can lay completely flat without any trouble right now, then you should be fine. I would not let your tonsils get in the way of good dental care!
