A member asked:

24 yro male, history of microdiscectomy x2 about 1 year ago. if disc(s) are fixed, why is lower back pain (non radiating) still present?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Most likely case is : That the disc surgery fixed the pinching of the nerve causing the leg pain but the disc itself is no longer functioning well to bear and distribute the normal loads subjected to it in every day life leading to your back pain. You may need further exercise to develop better core strength & use OTC meds as needed or even a simple back support. Rarely, a fusion may be indicated if no improvement.
