Disc Re-herniation: There is approximately a 10% chance that a disc ca re-rupture after a successful first operation. Development of identical symptoms of pain, numbness, and/or weakness would be worrisome and indicate a need for a MRI with gadolinium IV contrast.

Leg pain : If you have developed new pain radiating down the leg that follow a particular nerve root pattern and this is the same as before, then you may have a recurrent disc herniation. Talk to your spinal surgeon. A new MRI with and without contrast may provide you with your answer.
